La Viñuela presents a typical landscape of the Axarquía, situated at the foot of the Natural Park of Sierra Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama. It is just a 15 minute from the Coast and 30 minutes from Málaga Capital. Known mainly for the Dam La Viñuela, which is the reservoir with most capacity in Málaga. This little white town of the Axarquía is a benchmark for inland tourism. Los Romanes belongs to La Viñuela.
Highlights The highlight of La Viñuela is the reservoir of the same name, known as "Oasis of the Axarquía", a place of great beauty and contributes lots of tourism interest. In this Reservoir visitors can practice water sports, fishing or just enjoy the natural beauty and tranquility it brings.
In the village stands the Church of San Jose, dating from the sixteenth century, the Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows, the tower of the Atalaya and the Oil Mill from the nineteenth century.
Cuisine The local cuisine is typical of the region being the most outstanding dishes are tomato soups, potaje, migas. It is also known for its wine and Olive Oil from Los Romanes.
