Located inside the Costa, just 21 kilometers from Marbella. Benahavís is the most mountainous village on the Costa del Sol. South of the town big developments and golf courses have emerged, the town still retains the white village look. 70% of the surface of Benahavis has been declares “Complejo Serrano de Interés Ambiental”.

Places of Visit
The most representative monument is Montemayor Benahavis Castle, built in the tenth century The Torre de la Reina is the best known part of the fortress. In the town is the parish church of the Virgen del Rosario, which dates from the eighteenth century, and which has a XVI century Palace.

Spread through the town you can find several watchtowers. The most important are Leonera, Daídin, Campanillas, Esteril and Tramores.

Surrounding the town visitors can enjoy nature and wildlife places like Coto de la Zagaleta, Cueva del Puerto Capuchino, el charco de las mozas.
