Marbella is situated at the base of the Sierra Blanca on the Mediterranean Sea between Gibraltar and Malaga, with a population of 138,000.

Marbella is known world wide as a holiday destination for the rich and famous, who have regularly visited since the mid 1970s.

Marbella enjoys 27kms of beaches including Artola Beach, located within the protected area of Dunas de Artola and Cabopino beach alongside Cabopino Port. Within central Marbella, are the beaches Venus and La Fonatanilla and blue flags have been awarded to Puerto Banus and San Pedro Alcantara.

The Golden Mile is a stretch of approx 4 miles between Marbella and Puerto Banus, hosting some of Marbella´s most extravagant and luxurious properties including the Palace of King Fahd and well known hotels.

Many cultural events are held in Marbella between May and October. Annual music events are held including the Marbella International Opera Festival every August, June´s Jazz Festival, Marbella Reggae Festival in July, plus hosts The Marbella International film festival, Spanish Film Festival and Festival of Independent Theatre.
Marbella also enjoys 7 museums and offers numerous historical sights and monuments including Iglesia de Encarnacian and the Arabian Wall located around the Old Town.

Places to Visit
Casco Antiguo (The old town) is a beautiful walled city centred around Plaza de Naranjas featuring the Town hall dating from 1588, The Mayor´s house and the Chapel of Santigo believed to date back from the 15th century.

Within the old town you will also find the remains of the Arabic Castle and walls, Church of Santa Maria de Encarnacion, Casa de Roque, Capilla de San Juan de Dios (Chapel of St John of God).
A small Botanical garden called Eixample, is located between the historical area and the sea and features a fountain and 10 sculptures by Salvador Dali.
